Ride LA Bike / Our approach
Good information.
More time on the coast.
An independent cycling guide to Santa Monica and Venice. We are not a rental operator, a tour company or a city agency.
What sits behind a ride.
Mapped, not claimed as ridden
Our GPX tracks use connected OpenStreetMap cycleway nodes and respect mapped one-way directions. Distances are calculated from that geometry, including the outward and return legs. Rental-shop approaches and walking detours are excluded. These are planned tracks: we have not ridden them to verify access or conditions.
Terrain without the exaggeration
Elevation graphics use cached USGS NED ground-model samples through OpenTopoData, at approximately 10 m resolution. They are not GPS measurements or a survey of the riding surface. Underpasses can be misrepresented, so we do not publish a precise climbing gain.
Places, separately from the path
Landmark pins may sit away from the route. Any offset shown is straight-line distance, not a verified walking connection. Use signed access and appropriate bicycle parking.
Dates and uncertainty
Sources were checked on September 20, 2026. This does not mean an on-site inspection took place. The city bike map is dated 2023, photography is archival, and opening times or prices may change. We leave conflicting rental prices unconfirmed.
Commercial independence
No paid placements, affiliate links or display ads are installed. These three providers are a small selection, not a ranking of every operator. Any future sponsorship will need a clear label.
Privacy
No account, advertising cookies, forms or third-party analytics are installed. We do not request your location. Hosting infrastructure processes connection information and may retain technical logs. Interactive maps request tiles from OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address and browser request information. Other external links have their own privacy policies. Sharing copies only the current page URL when you press the share button.
Actual places, credited properly

These are real, archival photographs, not images of current conditions. Files are locally hosted without pixel edits; responsive display crops remain under their original licenses.

The identity
The coast. At your pace.
A road-inspired RL monogram, deep coastal green and a coral direction mark. The logo is an AI-generated brand asset, not a route illustration or a claim of trademark registration.
